Shona McKee McNeil – Book

An award winning graduate of Scotland’s RSAMD, Shona has worked as an actor, director, writer, drama & radio tutor with professional and community groups all over Scotland for the past 25 years.

She has written for BBC Radio Scotland Depts of Education and Religion; anti bullying plays for schools; and a safe holidays dvd for teenagers commissioned by Healthy Valleys & South Lanarkshire Council.  She is currently writing ‘Dare2Hope’ – a suicide prevention play, commissioned by Cutting Edge Theatre Productions, to be launched during Suicide Awareness Week 2010 and hopefully feature in this years Scottish Mental Health Arts & Film Festival.
She has directed a variety of plays including modern, classic, radio and musicals.

As an actor, Shona has played DS Burton in RIVER CITY, Mrs Peachum Brecht’s ‘THREEPENNY OPERA’, and LADY MACBETH and LADY CAPULET touring castles & palaces in Scotland.

Her passion is using theatre to stimulate creativity and in therapeutic situations.  She is part of a team from Cutting Edge Theatre taking the arts to Malawi this summer where they will pass their skills onto teachers and then take the lessons out to street children in the capital Blantyre.

Ian Hammond Brown – Music & Lyrics

As a composer / lyricist Ian has written several musicals – In 1994 his musical CAVALLO was performed at the Edinburgh Fringe. In 1997 he wrote music and co-wrote lyrics for DORIAN GRAY – THE MUSICAL, also performed in Edinburgh. In 1999 he completed a Diploma in Music through the Open University. He wrote music and Lyrics for BLUDE RED and a shorter adaptation of WHISKY GALORE – A MUSICAL! both performed at the Edinburgh fringe in 2006, produced by Cutting Edge Theatre Productions. In 2007 his musical FLING! written with Suzanne Lofthus, was one of the ten finalists in MACMUSICAL – 10 ON A HIGHLAND QUEST screened on BBC2. He has also written music for productions of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM, THE CAUCASIAN CHALK CIRCLE and music and lyrics for HOW TO CREATE AN AVATAR, commissioned by Scottish Youth Theatre. Other musicals include ELEVEN and IT’S ALL ABOUT LOVE.

The full length adaptation of WHISKY GALORE – A MUSICAL! ran at Pitlochry Festival Theatre in the 2009 season and was revived for their Autumn season in 2011.

As an actor and singer he has appeared in various productions including THE MAGIC FLUTE the new musical CLARINDA creating the roles of James Mclehose and Gavin Hamilton and singing on the original cast recording. Other theatre work includes CRUSADE, THE GREATEST GIFT OF ALL, BBC’S – FUTUREWORLD, Theatre in Education and Youth Theatre Work.

He is currently working on a new musical based on the life of Andrew Carnegie.
